6. VMV Bakery – Matavera (Sunday)

VMV Bakery is not your typical storefront; it’s a pop-up sensation that operates at the Punanga Nui Market on Saturdays and, most famously, at The Coffee House in Matavera on Sunday mornings. 

The excitement around their Sunday offerings is palpable, with locals queuing up for a weekly treat. But you have to get in early! This is a popular Sunday bakery open from 7:30am until all the pastries and treats are sold. 

Agreed that this bakery in Rarotonga is a true specialist, known for its traditional sourdough breads and pastries. Their Sunday pop-up is a cherished ritual, a chance to grab an exceptional loaf of bread or a delicious pastry to start the week right.

7. Paradise Bakeshop – Muri

There is a café menu serving breakfast and an early lunch Sunday to Friday. Though for us, it is the cabinet treats that makes this another standout bakery in Rarotonga!
